Is renting a motorhome for travel through the countryside in the UK a good idea?
I'm from the U.S., and thinking about taking a trip to the UK with my wife. Is excited to see the history of the land that our Great Great grandparents came from both England and Scotland, plus time to allow Ireland. Furthermore we like to see some old castles and other ruins such as Stonehenge, and ancient battlefields, etc. etc. I am very familiar with mobile homes and RV's in general. So it would be renting a campervan to tour the UK to be a good idea? Which campsites, camping or open field? Not to mention the safety of sleep at night in a country stranger in a camper? Or I'll be better, rent a car and staying in hotels? Any advice you can give will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Caravan (British term for a recreational vehicle) is very popular in summer throughout Britain. There are a lot of camps – and it seems more family oriented than I can say. Remember – you must drive on the left of the road and that gasoline is very expensive (about $ 5 – $ 6/gallon). (I assume your screen name that is USMC – so if you've been in Japan – should not be a problem for you.) Moreover, some of the roads are very narrow – and you may find it difficult to overcome some of the vehicles from the roadside.

Priceline.com, nobody knows how to use a UK or foreign credit card to book aimed at hotels + car rental?
I had an account priceline for years using a U.S. address and a debit card. Priceline sent me an email saying he could use a credit card in the UK or foreign nationals to the UK address book rental cars and hotels in the U.S., but not flights. Every time I try and pay only comes with boxes U.S. address field therefore can not select the UK or the postal codes so just says Please use a valid ZIP code USA. I talked to the staff of Priceline.com but have no idea. Anyone had this problem and knows how to fix? Thanks in advance for any useful advice
