Hello! I am a man of 24 years of Southern California and I wanted to plan a backpacking trip through western Europe, including Italy, France, the Netherlands and the UK. I have to go alone in but want to know if one was available. A travel companion would be nice! I would be backpacking for the first time so any other advice, words of wisdom or cities to check would be appreciated. Thank you!

Well, I think is not the place to find a travel companion;) Try these others: http://www.couchsurfing.org http://www.travbuddy.com/browse/users and I personally find it a great idea:) But now I have to study at university and I have no money for a long trip) and on the money. If you are planning a budget trip, what advice could book hostels (www.hostelworld.com) or to find housing the site you have linked above (couchsurfing). You can also use hitchhiking to get from one city to another. It's pretty safe in Europe because the crime rate is very low. Another tip is to look at the low cost airlines. In Europe there are plenty of them. You will be able to go from one country to another for prices rather low (from € 5-10). I wish you good luck)
